Ontario’s Greenbelt is an area of permanently protected green space that surrounds the City of Toronto and the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Established by the Provincial Government, the 1.8 million acres of the Greenbelt stretch across Southern Ontario, making it the largest and one of the most diverse Greenbelts in the world.
To help set the stage for funding renewal, Manifest developed a social marketing strategy and branding campaign that highlights the Greenbelt’s role as a living laboratory where new ideas about the way we live can be explored and developed. The branding campaign tells the stories of Greenbelt innovations and world leading initiatives around watersheds, food security, and sustainable travel, all anchored with the powerful tagline “Possibility Grows Here”.
What did we change? Following the campaign, polling results revealed a 50% increase in unaided awareness about the Greenbelt and 93% support for the Greenbelt. The brand campaign and tremendous community results helped set the stage for renewed funding for the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation from the Provincial Government.
